Shaw’s legendary wit turns political drama into sparkling comedy when veteran strategist Julius Caesar becomes mentor to the enchanting teenage queen of Roman-occupied Egypt. Their first encounter under a desert moon will lead to a shift in the course of history, as Cleopatra gradually overcomes her timidity to become a determined player in the game of power politics. Christopher Plummer as Caesar, Nikki James as Cleopatra. Shot over 3 days during Stratford’s Shakespeare Festival this stunning encore production will be presented at select Cineplex Entertainment Theatres Across Canada.

BBC Last Night Of The Proms
The BBC Last Night of the Proms is one of the most famous music events in the world, listened to and watched by millions around the globe. On Saturday, September 11th, the powerful finale of the 2010 BBC Proms season will be broadcast LIVE via satellite from the Royal Albert Hall in London, to select movie theaters nationwide. Presented in Canada by Cineplex Entertainment and BY Experience, under exclusive license from BBC Worldwide.

This year, tradition meets high jinks as Jiří Bělohlávek conducts his second Last Night. Renée Fleming lends her lustrous soprano to music by Strauss, Dvořák and Smetana. Former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Maxim Rysanov gives Tchaikovsky’s popular cello variations a new voice, and loyal Prommers can spot the last traces of the season’s Wood, Parry, Wagner, Rodgers and Hammerstein and opera themes.

For a city steeped in sports history, finally Boston will get to witness world class mixed martial arts in its own backyard. After a back-and-forth instant classic at UFC® 112, in April, which saw Frankie Edgar shock the mixed martial arts world and take the UFC lightweight strap from around BJ Penn’s waist, the two will square off again on Saturday, August 28 at UFC 118: EDGAR VS. PENN 2, which is live from the TD Garden, in Boston, Massachusetts and presented by TapouT®. Also on this card, Randy Couture takes on boxing legend James Toney as Toney makes his mixed martial arts debut. Plus Rousimar Palhares takes on Nate Marquardt, and Gray Maynard and Kenny Florian battle for the next top lightweight contender spot.
