The fans have gone home, the costumes have been put away, and the stars and celebs have all returned to the sets from whence they came. That's right, another year of Comic-Con has come and gone. The annual celebration of the popular arts brought with it the usual hype, headlines and hordes of humanity but it also brought with it something new: me! I got to experience the Con in person for the very first time. I reveled in the chaos and craziness as I unleashed my inner-geek and let it loose on a 4-day blitz of everything movie, television and fan-related it could find! By the end of the third day, I was running on pure adrenaline, and by the 4th day I could barely stand-up due to line-up fatigue but somehow I made it through and made my way back home in one piece. If I were to list everything that struck me as memorable, we'd be here all night so I've narrowed it down to what I consider to be the very best of the best for Comic-Con 2010. Take a look!
The Hollywood premiere of the hotly-anticipated Pop-Art-live-comic-book-romantic-comedy-Michael-Cera-flick Scott Pilgrim vs the World, filmed in your very own background if you call Toronto home, had everything one could hope to have at a fancy film opening and a few things you didn't even know you wanted.
We're talking Thomas Jane avec giant stogie, mega-talented Alison Pill pulling a Kristen Stewart (ie. wearing a scowl that says she'd rather be anywhere else), Jason Schwartzman and his impressive moustache, Nick Frost just, you know, showing up, deadpan diva Aubrey Plaza going all sexy with a tattered, revealing dress and of course Michael Cera pulling faces and looking somewhere between awkward and uncomfortable. At least he's consistent. And funny.
Check out all the madness now!
France's first lady, a former supermodel turned songstress, is making her debut as an actress, filming this week in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.
Even her busy husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy, wasn't about to miss the action. He showed up on the Left Bank set Tuesday, in dark suit but no tie, to watch his spouse in her latest creative venture.
Allen, beloved by the French, recruited Carla Bruni-Sarkozy last fall for what is said to be a small role in the romantic comedy which follows a family travelling in Paris for business. France's first lady reportedly plays a museum director.

Bond references, a cat impersonating Hannibal Lecter and a purrfectly mad Bette Midler. This is how Newfoudland-born filmmaker Brad Peyton does talking-animal, kids’ movies - his way.
The man in the director’s chair for Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, may seem to be a bit of a surprising choice since his early work has more in common with Tim Burton than say, Brad Bird – his 2002 short is called Evelyn: The Cutest Evil Dead Girl – but the bespectacled, bearded 31-year-old knows a golden opportunity when he sees one.
Though the first to admit that he possesses a darker sensibility than the live-action/3D sequel may suggest, being offered the chance to helm a major Hollywood film as his feature debut was too good to pass up.
Actress Angelina Jolie, in Tokyo for the weekend opening of action thriller Salt, brushed off rumors about her shaky relations with Brad Pitt.
"He was just a wonderful father," she said Tuesday of Pitt, during work on the film, in which she plays a tough spy. He often brought the children to the set, she recalled.
"They played with fake blood, and they found mommy very strange in her different hair," she said.
Pitt and Jolie have been partners since they began a relationship while working on the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. They are raising six children.
A total of 50 select Gala and Special Presentation films were announced Tuesday morning by the Toronto International Film Festival's main men Piers Handling, the festival CEO and director, and co-director Cameron Bailey, in the crowded and buzzing Regency Ballroom in the Hyatt Regency, a stone's throw from the festival's new home in the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
Handling and Bailey were in high spirits as they announced confirmed films from Robert Redford, Ben Affleck, Darren Aronofsky, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Woody Allen, Mike Leigh, Stephen Frears and Michael Winterbottom would be premiering at the festival, either as worldwide or North American firsts.
Light cycles, wizards, vampires and superheroes made for another colorful Comic-Con.
San Diego's annual pop-culture convention wrapped up Sunday after four days of comic books, costumes, celebrity appearances and TV and movie previews.
A new take on Tron, the latest Harry Potter film, HBO's "True Blood" and Marvel's The Avengers were among the headlines from the 41st annual festival.
Other highlights included a surprise screening of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World followed by a concert by rock band Metric and appearances by Harrison Ford and Angelina Jolie.
More than 120,000 fans attended the sold-out event at the San Diego Convention Center. They came for the toys and collectibles, the people-watching and a chance to see early footage from anticipated films.
